Butterfly Top Table (Macintosh Inspired)

This table was co-designed with a client from Alexandria Virginia featuring a 16" thru tenon shelf and 'Charles Rennie Mackintosh' inspired cutouts on the apron.

The table measures 46" wide by 28" deep by 16" high with 2 1/2" square legs.

The table top is created using 6 butterfly joints combining 3 boards in a 'frame'.

Made with quarter-sawn white oak. The finish is fumed (2 hours for a light finish) followed by six coats of shellac (french polishing) and two coats of varnish (all hand rubbed). The process is completed with two coats of Butcher's or Bri wax and a final buffing for a lustrous shine.
