My loft is
located at the famous Nashawena Mills in historic New Bedford,
Massachusetts. This mill was the home of the largest weaving loom in
the world. As whaling began to decline, the Textile Industry was on
the rise in New Bedford through the mid 1800's until the early
1900's. With an aging infrastructure, slowing sales and the Great
Depression most of the mills were closing and in 1952 Nashawena had
closed.
